James Pehringer, Au.D.
Doctor of Audiology
Dr. Pehringer received his doctoral degree from A.T. Still University located in Mesa, AZ. with minor studies in electrical engineering, acoustics, and psychology.
Over his career, he has developed a vast array of experiences in the profession as a research audiologist, in commercial audiology to develop new products and measurement techniques, and as a clinical and private practice audiologist shaping his knowledge and perspectives of the impact of hearing loss and his unique approach to treatment!
He has been instrumental in developing the technology used to evaluate young and at-risk children’s hearing that cannot participate in traditional testing techniques due to their age and cognitive development. His work in this area of Visual Reinforcement Audiometry (VRA) has led to the distribution of the equipment necessary to conduct hearing tests on young children around the world to diagnose and measure their rehabilitation as they matured.
On a personal note, Dr. Pehringer and his wife Andree raised two sons (Adam and Jeremy) and enjoy living on a lake in rural Minneapolis. Water sports, hiking, and playing with their two German Wire Hair pointers dogs are favorite activities of the family.
Dr. Pehringer is actively involved in his community with a passion for helping and improving people’s lifestyles on many levels. He feels that by taking the time to listen to members of the community to discover their concerns and what matters most to them will allow us to work together to improve the conditions and resources available to meet those needs and escalate their quality of life!
