HEARING SOLUTIONS was created by Dr. James L. Pehringer, Doctor of Audiology, after working for many years in the industry as a commercial and research audiologist for hearing aid manufacturers. After twenty-eight years of experience in field of communication disorders, electronic technology, and hearing research, he wanted to explore a new approach to providing hearing health care to the community.
Starting out as ALLIED HEARING in 1996, Dr. Pehringer changed the name of the clinic to HEARING SOLUTIONS GROUP to reflect the changes in technology, product offerings and new location in Minnetonka. The new space being almost double the size of the previous clinic boasts of the latest hearing testing technology, expanded product lines and the addition of the SOUND-STAGE reality room to verify hearing aid performance and optimize the fittings.
Our practice specializes in:
Hearing aids come in a variety of designs and with a wide range of functions and features to address an individual’s specific needs. We’ll help match you to the hearing aid which meets your specific lifestyle.
These devices are meant to be used either with or without hearing aids depending on your hearing needs and can include phones, alarm clocks and wireless TV systems.
If a hearing loss is suspected, an appointment with one of our certified Audiologists should be made for the purposes of testing and evaluation. Testing is painless, comfortable and safe.
Hearing is typically thought of as occurring in our ears, but hearing—and our understanding of sounds—really takes place in our brains. The right combination of provider, testing, and technology can help you back to the lifestyle you desire.
For patients suffering with tinnitus (“ringing in the ears”) we offer several diagnostic tests and self-assessment surveys to determine the cause of the tinnitus and its psychological impact.
